Ericeira is one of the best places to learn to surf in Europe. There are so many different surf spots in Ericeira, that you can nearly always find suitable waves.

We can arrange surf lessons with a local surf school for both beginners and intermediate surfers. You can choose between a single surf lesson, a 3-day surf course and a 5-day surf course. All the surf lessons include transportation to/from the beach, quality surf equipment and an insurance.

Meet the surf teacher

Pedro is the owner of the surf school and takes care of the surf lessons. He is born and raised in the area and has been surfing since his childhood. He knows the area around Ericeira like no other and will make sure you are at the right time at the right place to have the best possible surf conditions. He is a recognised surf instructor by the Portuguese Surfing Federation since 2012 and loves to share his passion for the sport with you. His surf lessons are well known for the quality, with great feedback and positive vibes. He and his team will make sure that you have the best time while improving your surf level.

Beginner surf lessons are for people who have little to no surf experience. You will learn the basics of surfing on the beach and in the whitewater. You will learn the correct technique of how to catch waves and stand up on your own so that you can progress onto catching unbroken waves.

Intermediate surf lessons are for people who can comfortably stand on the board and want to focus on improving the surf technique on unbroken waves. Once you have an understanding of how to paddle out past the broken waves, you will learn how to position yourself in the line-up and how to select the best waves. You will improve your basic understanding of turning and down the line surfing.
